Thoughts On Blogging

I’ve been blogging since 2002. One thing I’ve noticed in blogging is that I tend to wait to post something until I have thought it through thoroughly and I’m fairly confident that I can share a good, decent length blog post here. The “decent length” part of that last sentence is what I’m toying with right now.

I’ve always thought blog posts, in general, need to be a sufficient length, meaning more than just a paragraph or two. But lately, I’ve been re-thinking this. There are days where thoughts I would consider to be worth sharing come in short bursts of one or two sentences. Sometimes they don’t need to be developed further. Sometimes I think they could be developed further, but perhaps they would be better developed by sharing them and allowing you, the reader(s) (yes, I’m hoping there is more than one person reading this blog), to join the conversation, instead of me struggling to post what I consider to be a complete blog post.

So I’ve decided I’m going to attempt a slight shift in posting. While I know there will still be “full length” posts coming periodically, there will, hopefully, be more frequent, shorter posts, which may consist of nothing more than one or two sentences. Just brief thoughts or revelations of truth as they come throughout the day or week.

To be honest, I’m looking forward to this shift and hope it will be something you enjoy as well. I guess we’ll see. At any rate, thanks for reading.

  1. I like it! I may try it myself.

(But you will still get the credit for the idea.) 😉

    • Thanks! Glad you like it. I’ve enjoyed the few short posts I’ve made since then and have plans for more in the coming days.

It really frees me up to enjoy blogging and posting short things instead of not posting stuff because I haven’t taken time to develop a longer more in depth post.

I’ll keep an eye out for yours!
